R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Friends and family are mourning the loss of James E.
  Weatherford of Waxahachie, who passed away on March 18, 2009, at the
  age of 83; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Ellis County on September 2, 1925, to C. S.
  and Kate Weatherford, James Weatherford attended schools in Ovilla,
  Red Oak, and Waxahachie; he went on to study at North Texas State
  University before answering his nation's call to duty with four
  years of service in the U.S. Air Force, including a year spent
  overseas; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Weatherford worked for International Harvester
  and J. C. Penney after concluding his military duty; he ultimately
  began a career at Sears that spanned 30 years, during which time he
  managed stores in Waxahachie and Richardson; and
         WHEREAS, Formerly married to Janie Hazelip and Carolyn
  Parker, both of whom preceded him in death, Mr. Weatherford
  remarried in 1995 and enjoyed a rewarding relationship with his
  wife, Betty; he was the devoted father of two children, and his
  family grew to include two stepchildren and four grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, James Weatherford was a member of Farley Street
  Baptist Church for four decades, and he took great enjoyment in his
  hobbies of golf, bridge, and other card games; known for his playful
  sense of humor, he brought joy to his family and friends throughout
  his life, and they will long treasure their memories of time spent
  in his company; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of James E. Weatherford
  and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his
  wife, Betty Weatherford; to his children, Paul Weatherford and his
  wife, Gwen, and Laura Bearden; to his stepchildren, Tina Dennison
  and Paul Nelson and his wife, Melinda; to his grandchildren and
  step-grandchildren, Lindsey Weatherford, Larisa and Ross Bearden,
  and Macy Dennison; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of James
  Weatherford.
