R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Susan Durham, executive director of the South |
|
Texans' Property Rights Association, has distinguished herself |
|
through her passionate community engagement; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Durham has led STPRA since its founding in 2006; |
|
the STPRA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating the |
|
public about the rights of property owners and working to resolve |
|
issues relating to eminent domain, water rights, indemnity, |
|
government regulation, and trespassing; and |
|
WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of South Texas, Ms. Durham |
|
studied business at Texas A&M University at Kingsville and has 35 |
|
years' experience as a rancher; she currently runs the 1,400-acre |
|
El Tule Ranch in Jim Wells County, and her previous experience |
|
includes owning and operating a wildlife breeding business; and |
|
WHEREAS, This dynamic Texan has further served her fellow |
|
citizens as programs chair for the Charity Department of the |
|
Woman's Club of Kingsville; moreover, she is an active member of the |
|
First United Methodist Church; and |
|
WHEREAS, Committed to bettering the region she is proud to |
|
call home, Susan Durham is helping to make a positive difference |
|
among landowners and others in South Texas, and she is indeed |
|
deserving of recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend Susan Durham for her contributions to |
|
her community and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|
success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Durham as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
