R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Michael Najera won election to the board of trustees |
|
|
of the Socorro Independent School District on May 9, 2009, and as he |
|
|
prepares to take office, it is appropriate that he be honored for |
|
|
his exemplary dedication to enhancing the education of the |
|
|
district's schoolchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Providing youth with a quality education is |
|
|
essential to creating a prosperous future for our state and nation, |
|
|
and public schools are the cornerstone of this crucial endeavor; |
|
|
local school board members unite their efforts with those of |
|
|
parents, classroom teachers, and other education professionals to |
|
|
provide the best possible learning environment for area students; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In his professional life, Mr. Najera is a health |
|
|
care consultant for a software company, and his desire to take on |
|
|
civic responsibilities is indeed admirable; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Michael Najera is committed to broadening the path |
|
|
of educational opportunity for Socorro ISD students, and through |
|
|
his efforts to meet their current needs and to anticipate future |
|
|
challenges, he is rendering a valuable public service; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Michael Najera on his election to |
|
|
the board of trustees of the Socorro Independent School District |
|
|
and extend to him sincere best wishes for a successful and |
|
|
productive term in office; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Najera as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
