R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Raymundo Rodriguez has served the Socorro |
|
Independent School District board with great distinction for six |
|
years, and it is indeed fitting to recognize his contributions; and |
|
WHEREAS, Throughout his tenure, Ray Rodriguez worked |
|
diligently to maintain a sound fiscal standing and increase the |
|
district's savings, and he advocated for higher pay for the |
|
district's hardworking employees; a dedicated public servant, he |
|
previously served on the city council for 12 years, and was mayor of |
|
Socorro from 1998 to 2000; in addition, he has served on several |
|
committees for the Rio Grande Council of Governments, as well as on |
|
its board; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Rodriguez worked as an attendance officer for |
|
Socorro ISD between 1987 and 1993, visiting homes to reach out to |
|
the families of children with frequent absences; he is also a |
|
retired business owner, having spent almost three decades in |
|
medical sales and repairs; in all his endeavors, he enjoys the love |
|
and support of his wife, Linda, and his children, Denise and Paul; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, With an unwavering commitment to Socorro ISD |
|
students and staff, Ray Rodriguez worked to foster a supportive and |
|
challenging education environment, and in so doing, he has helped |
|
equip many young Texans with skills that will help them to build |
|
fulfilling and productive lives; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor Raymundo Rodriguez for his service as a |
|
trustee of the Socorro Independent School District and extend to |
|
him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Rodriguez as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
