R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Reverend Keefe Cropper of Westbury United Methodist |
|
Church in Houston has long devoted himself to serving his faith and |
|
the greater community, and he is truly deserving of special |
|
recognition; and |
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of The University of Texas at Tyler, |
|
Reverend Cropper received his bachelor's degree in psychology and |
|
worked in the drafting and engineering fields for 13 years before he |
|
was called to the ministry; he earned his Master of Divinity degree |
|
from the Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist |
|
University; and |
|
WHEREAS, Reverend Cropper began his career in the pulpit at |
|
Flint United Methodist Church in 1987 and served six other |
|
congregations before becoming senior pastor of Westbury United |
|
Methodist Church in 2007; he is currently conducting research in |
|
the area of evangelism and mission as a Polycarp Fellow; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Reverend Cropper enjoys the |
|
love and support of his wife, Tina, and two sons, Michael and |
|
Stephen; his genuine regard for the welfare of others has enriched |
|
the lives of many people, and by sharing his knowledge and |
|
experience with his fellow congregants, he is benefiting his |
|
community in countless ways; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor Reverend Keefe Cropper for his |
|
contributions to the community and extend to him best wishes for |
|
continued success in his good works; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Reverend Cropper as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
