R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The members of the Texas Association of Addiction |
|
Professionals are providing a vital service to their clients and to |
|
the general public by raising awareness about chemical dependency |
|
and other conditions; and |
|
WHEREAS, A group of individual counselors, prevention |
|
specialists, and others with direct involvement in the field of |
|
addiction, TAAP is dedicated to the recovery of alcoholics and drug |
|
abusers and their families, and it seeks to educate citizens about |
|
addiction and other compulsive behaviors through its legislative |
|
initiatives and promotional campaigns; and |
|
WHEREAS, TAAP works with state and federal agencies to |
|
further public policy, and it advocates for high standards of |
|
licensure and certification and strong ethics; in addition, it |
|
unites addiction counselors and other professionals from across |
|
Texas by organizing local chapters and providing education, |
|
development, networking, and peer assistance opportunities; and |
|
WHEREAS, In promoting health and recovery, the Texas |
|
Association of Addiction Professionals is contributing to the |
|
greater good of the Lone Star State, and it is indeed a pleasure to |
|
recognize this group for its outstanding efforts; now, therefore, |
|
be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor the Texas Association of Addiction |
|
Professionals for its advocacy efforts regarding the prevention and |
|
treatment of addiction and extend to the association members |
|
sincere best wishes for continued success with their worthy |
|
endeavors; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for TAAP as an expression of high regard by the Texas House |
|
of Representatives. |
