R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, For more than four decades, broadcaster Mike
  Petrizzo of Houston has contributed greatly to the betterment of
  his community; and
         WHEREAS, Affiliated with KCOH radio in Houston for 43 years,
  Mr. Petrizzo started as an accountant, and for the past 30 years he
  has been the station's general manager; during his tenure, KCOH has
  become an important source for political commentary and a forum for
  citizens and public officials to address important issues; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Petrizzo has also devoted a great deal of time
  and energy to notable organizations and causes in the Houston area;
  he has helped showcase and raise funds for the United Negro College
  Fund, the NAACP, the Houston Area Urban League, and Texas Southern
  University; moreover, this outstanding community leader has helped
  to raise awareness of sickle cell disease, and he has worked for
  many years with the Houston chapter of the National Council of Negro
  Women to publicize Black History Month with special programs and
  broadcasts; and
         WHEREAS, With the love and support of his wife, four
  children, and one grandchild, Mike Petrizzo has actively promoted
  worthy causes and public discourse about matters of importance; in
  so doing, he has enriched the lives of his listeners and the
  community at large, and he may indeed take great pride in these
  achievements; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Mike Petrizzo on his four decades of
  service in behalf of the residents of Houston and extend to him
  sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Petrizzo as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
