R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Doyle and Verda Arnold of Quinlan |
|
|
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 20, 2009; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold were united in matrimony in |
|
|
Plano on that special day in 1959; through the years, they have |
|
|
nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with |
|
|
the addition of 5 children, 10 grandchildren, and 14 |
|
|
great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Arnold is a semiretired independent carpenter |
|
|
and the owner of Arnold Construction; Mrs. Arnold enjoyed a career |
|
|
with the Quinlan Independent School District before her retirement; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the |
|
|
world during the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife |
|
|
have remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the |
|
|
strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges |
|
|
and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Doyle and Verda Arnold on their |
|
|
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Arnold as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
