R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Citizens of Frisco are coming together on the |
|
|
weekend of October 16 through 18, 2009, to celebrate the first |
|
|
annual Frisco Arts Festival; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Presented by Frisco Arts and the Newman Village |
|
|
community, the juried festival features work from more than 100 |
|
|
professional artists from the United States and abroad; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This family-friendly event will also include booths |
|
|
providing samples from local restaurants, as well as local |
|
|
musicians and performers displaying their talent on the community |
|
|
stage and professional acts performing on the main stage; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Proceeds will benefit a number of local nonprofit |
|
|
arts organizations, including the Frisco Area Children's Theater, |
|
|
the Frisco Chorale, the Cross Timbers Youth Orchestra, and the |
|
|
Plano Symphony Orchestra; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Local arts festivals are an immeasurable asset to |
|
|
their communities, providing enrichment and recreation to those who |
|
|
attend and contributing significantly to the local economy, and |
|
|
this exciting new festival promises to become a much-anticipated |
|
|
annual affair; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the first annual Frisco Arts |
|
|
Festival and extend to the festival's organizers, artists, and |
|
|
attendees sincere best wishes for an enjoyable and memorable event; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Frisco Arts as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
