R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Roy and Charlene Harris celebrated |
|
|
their 60th wedding anniversary on April 22, 2009; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Harris were united in matrimony in |
|
|
Gilmer in 1949; through the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling |
|
|
marriage that has been made even richer with the addition of their |
|
|
sons, Phil and his wife, Gail, Greg and his wife, Kathy, Bret and |
|
|
his wife, Judy, and Kyle and his wife, Gayla, as well as eight |
|
|
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Harris worked as Gregg County auditor for many |
|
|
years and is retired; Mrs. Harris is a homemaker; the couple enjoy |
|
|
travelling, especially in their RV; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the |
|
|
world during the past six decades, this devoted husband and wife |
|
|
have remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the |
|
|
strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges |
|
|
and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Roy and Charlene Harris on their |
|
|
60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Harris as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
