R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Mary Helen Bair has been named the 2009 Citizen of |
|
|
the Year by the Longview Rotary Club; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A truly deserving recipient of this accolade, Ms. |
|
|
Bair helped organize the inaugural Thanksgiving Food Drive in |
|
|
Longview, and she continues to assist with the coordination of the |
|
|
annual event; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Bair worked for many years as a program director |
|
|
of KFRO, a local radio station; moreover, this tireless volunteer |
|
|
has contributed to an array of civic organizations, including |
|
|
Hospice of Longview, Gregg County Crime Stoppers, Longview |
|
|
Community Theater, and United Way; in all of her endeavors, she |
|
|
benefits from the love and support of her husband, Chuck, and the |
|
|
couple enjoy membership at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mary Bair sets a sterling example of community |
|
|
engagement for her fellow citizens, and it is indeed a pleasure to |
|
|
join the Longview Rotary Club in recognizing her for her |
|
|
outstanding efforts; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Mary Helen Bair on her receipt of |
|
|
the 2009 Citizen of the Year award and extend to her sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Bair as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
