R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, A century of joyful memories and meaningful |
|
accomplishments is truly reason to celebrate, and on April 12, |
|
2009, Edward Joseph Casanova of El Paso reached that remarkable |
|
milestone in his life when he celebrated his 100th birthday; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Casanova was born in Colorado in 1909; he |
|
answered his nation's call to duty with service in the U.S. Army Air |
|
Forces during World War II; he continued his military service after |
|
the war, spending a total of 24 years in uniform before his |
|
retirement in 1965; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Casanova earned his private pilot's license in |
|
1947 and his commercial pilot's license three years later; he |
|
worked for the State of New Mexico after leaving the military, and |
|
he raised his three children, Joseph, Jane, and Julie, as a single |
|
father; and |
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of the past century, Edward Casanova |
|
has devoted himself to his loved ones and to serving his country, |
|
and it is a pleasure to join in honoring him for 100 years of life |
|
well lived; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Edward Joseph Casanova on his 100th |
|
birthday and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
|
happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Casanova as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
