R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Friends and family were greatly saddened by the |
|
death of Thomas Oliver of Baytown, who passed away on April 18, |
|
2009, at the age of 61; and |
|
WHEREAS, Thomas Oliver was born on Independence Day, 1947, to |
|
Tom and Faye Malone Oliver in Dallas; he went on to become an |
|
accountant, and he worked for Bentley-Bratcher and Associates; a |
|
resident of Baytown for more than 30 years, he was active in the |
|
Baytown Lions Club and served as a committee member on the Texas |
|
State Board of Public Accountancy and as vice chair of the |
|
Department of Aging and Disability Services; and |
|
WHEREAS, A devoted family man, Mr. Oliver shared many |
|
rewarding years of marriage with his wife, Kathy, and the couple |
|
raised a family that grew to include two daughters, Lisa and Laura, |
|
and three grandchildren; in addition to spending time with his |
|
loved ones, Mr. Oliver enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid |
|
outdoorsman; and |
|
WHEREAS, Thomas Oliver led a rich and purposeful life, and he |
|
will be deeply missed by all those who were fortunate enough to know |
|
him; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Thomas Oliver and |
|
extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, |
|
Kathy Oliver; to his daughters, Lisa Bryant and Laura Kennedy and |
|
her husband, Roland; to his grandchildren, Sara Bryant, Trace |
|
Kennedy, and Brayden Kennedy; to his mother, Faye Oliver; to his |
|
brother, Ronald Oliver, and his wife, Debbie; to his mother-in-law, |
|
Ellen Morse; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Thomas |
|
Oliver. |
