R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Friends and family were greatly saddened by the
  death of Thomas Oliver of Baytown, who passed away on April 18,
  2009, at the age of 61; and
         WHEREAS, Thomas Oliver was born on Independence Day, 1947, to
  Tom and Faye Malone Oliver in Dallas; he went on to become an
  accountant, and he worked for Bentley-Bratcher and Associates; a
  resident of Baytown for more than 30 years, he was active in the
  Baytown Lions Club and served as a committee member on the Texas
  State Board of Public Accountancy and as vice chair of the
  Department of Aging and Disability Services; and
         WHEREAS, A devoted family man, Mr. Oliver shared many
  rewarding years of marriage with his wife, Kathy, and the couple
  raised a family that grew to include two daughters, Lisa and Laura,
  and three grandchildren; in addition to spending time with his
  loved ones, Mr. Oliver enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid
  outdoorsman; and
         WHEREAS, Thomas Oliver led a rich and purposeful life, and he
  will be deeply missed by all those who were fortunate enough to know
  him; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Thomas Oliver and
  extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife,
  Kathy Oliver; to his daughters, Lisa Bryant and Laura Kennedy and
  her husband, Roland; to his grandchildren, Sara Bryant, Trace
  Kennedy, and Brayden Kennedy; to his mother, Faye Oliver; to his
  brother, Ronald Oliver, and his wife, Debbie; to his mother-in-law,
  Ellen Morse; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Thomas
  Oliver.
