R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The untimely death of Alexander Christian Reed on |
|
|
May 22, 2009, at the age of 17, has deeply saddened the China Spring |
|
|
community and has brought a great loss to his family and to all who |
|
|
knew him; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Born on October 22, 1991, in Waco, Alex Reed was the |
|
|
beloved son of Laura Myers and Damon Reed; he embraced life with a |
|
|
wonderful sense of humor and brightened the days of his numerous |
|
|
friends with his ever-present smile; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Alex enjoyed riding horses, roping, bowling, scuba |
|
|
diving, and Frisbee golf, and he spent many happy times traveling |
|
|
with his family and swimming at the lake with his brothers and |
|
|
sisters; a talented student, he was a proud China Spring Cougar and |
|
|
a member of Highland Baptist Church; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Although his journey on this earth was far too |
|
|
brief, memories of this friendly, caring young man will forever |
|
|
endure in the hearts of those who were privileged to share in his |
|
|
love and affection; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Alexander Christian |
|
|
Reed and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to |
|
|
his mother and stepfather, Laura and Dow Myers; to his siblings, |
|
|
Sumner, Nathan, Amelia, and Madelynn Myers; to his father, Damon |
|
|
Reed and special friend, Rachel Adair, and children, Jordan Adair |
|
|
and Joshua Molina; to his grandparents, Bob and Gloria Stratton, |
|
|
Butch and Pat Reed, and Bob and Jerry Myers; to his |
|
|
great-grandparents, Polly Nettles and Jean Stratton; to his aunts |
|
|
and uncles, Amy Stratton, Ross Myers, Michael and Narda Reed, and |
|
|
Teresa and Ricky Shands; to his great-aunts and uncles, Billie |
|
|
Myers, Jeannie Montgomery, Monty and Larry Wylie, Rita Young, Roger |
|
|
and Marla Stratton, and Nancy and Chase Reid; to his cousins, |
|
|
Nicholas and Andrea Reed and Aalyrah Stratton; and to his other |
|
|
loved ones, including Abel Reyna, Halston Olinger, Karen and Scott |
|
|
Rogers, the Reyna, Dulin, Wade, and Kusler families, Brent and Lisa |
|
|
Murray, and Pete and Julia Rutter; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Alexander |
|
|
Christian Reed. |
