R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Heather Crosby celebrated a significant milestone
  in her life when she graduated from The University of Texas at
  Austin on May 22, 2009; and
         WHEREAS, Born on February 14, 1987, in Lawton, Oklahoma, Ms.
  Crosby is the oldest of four children; she was a member of the
  debate team and president of the National Honor Society at her high
  school and placed in the top 10 percent of her graduating class; she
  leaves college with two bachelor's degrees, one in government with
  an emphasis on American politics and one in history, which focused
  on European studies; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Crosby has gained firsthand experience in the
  legislative process as an intern in the offices of two Texas elected
  officials; her first position was with the office of State
  Representative Dan Branch, working with the Texas Higher Education
  Committee, and she later assisted the office of State
  Representative Beverly Woolley; she plans to continue her education
  with postgraduate work at Texas State University; and
         WHEREAS, A source of great pride to her family, Heather
  Crosby may indeed reflect on her academic career with a sense of
  accomplishment and look forward to a future bright with promise;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Heather Crosby on her graduation
  from The University of Texas at Austin and extend to her sincere
  best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Crosby as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
