R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of love
  and shared experiences, and William Randolph Alexander, Sr., and
  Nancy Alexander are celebrating this joyous milestone in their
  marriage on June 27, 2009; and
         WHEREAS, A graduate of Sam Houston State University, Randy
  Alexander met the former Nancy Elizabeth Woodland while he was
  working as a chemist for Petro-Tex in Pasadena; she was a model and
  an employee of a local insurance company; the pair were joined in
  matrimony in 1959 at Second Baptist Church in Pasadena; over the
  years, they have been blessed with a treasured family that includes
  three sons and their spouses, William and Raye, Steven and Mary, and
  Troy and Kara, as well as four grandchildren, Jairus, Cameron,
  Brady, and Reid; and
         WHEREAS, Respected members of the Pasadena community for many
  years, Mr. and Mrs. Alexander were active congregants of Second
  Baptist Church and Clearpoint Church, and they presently worship at
  Sagemont Church in Houston, where Mr. Alexander is a deacon; the
  couple have also given freely of their time and efforts in the wider
  community in service to their faith; they have volunteered at the
  Community Pregnancy Center of Pasadena and currently serve on the
  board of directors of Church Starts International; and
         WHEREAS, Avid campers, Mr. and Mrs. Alexander have taken to
  the road on many a family vacation with their trailer or RV; in
  recent years, a favorite destination has been Destin, Florida; and
         WHEREAS, Randy and Nancy Alexander have enjoyed five decades
  of abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an
  exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
  commitment; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Randy and Nancy Alexander on the
  occasion of their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them
  sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Alexander as an expression of high regard
  by the Texas House of Representatives.
