R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Conroe High School Theatre Department has been |
|
|
selected to participate in the 2009 American High School Theatre |
|
|
Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A highly competitive program, the event will feature |
|
|
only 64 of the nearly 1,600 theatre departments that were nominated |
|
|
from throughout the United States; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Conroe High School Theatre Department, which is |
|
|
skillfully directed by Dave Feranchak and Becca Babbitt, was chosen |
|
|
based on its philosophical approach to training students in |
|
|
theatre; in August, the Conroe group will perform at the Edinburgh |
|
|
Festival Fringe, one of the world's largest and most prestigious |
|
|
arts festivals; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through commitment, hard work, and perseverance, |
|
|
Conroe High drama students and their instructors have earned |
|
|
international recognition, and all those associated with the |
|
|
department may indeed reflect with great pride on their outstanding |
|
|
achievements as they embark on this exciting endeavor; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor the members of the Conroe High School |
|
|
Theatre Department and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the department as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
