R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Azuri Ruiz has played an important role in the
  success of the YWCA El Paso del Norte Region, which is celebrating
  its 100th anniversary in 2009; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Ruiz was introduced to the YWCA when her
  employer, the Center for Civic Engagement at The University of
  Texas at El Paso, which she now directs, collaborated with the
  organization to assess the needs of local women; she went on to
  participate in the YWCA Community Building Momentum Leadership
  Institute and later served on the leadership committee; and
         WHEREAS, In 2006, this dynamic young woman became the only
  board member under the age of 30, and she was subsequently invited
  to join the YWCA Southwest/Delta Regional Council as a delegate;
  most recently, she was elected as a coordinating board member for
  the national YWCA; and
         WHEREAS, Dedicated volunteers are vital to the betterment of
  communities across the Lone Star State, and Azuri Ruiz has set an
  outstanding example of civic involvement through her work with the
  YWCA; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Azuri Ruiz for her admirable record of
  service with the YWCA El Paso del Norte Region and extend to her
  sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Ruiz as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
