R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Project Arriba of El Paso hosted a celebration in |
|
honor of its spring and summer graduates on May 22, 2009; and |
|
WHEREAS, Incorporated in 1998, Project Arriba, or Advanced |
|
Retraining and Redevelopment Initiative in Border Areas, is a |
|
nonprofit group that focuses on economic and workforce development; |
|
the organization was designed as a comprehensive, integrated |
|
program of occupational, motivational, and workplace skills |
|
training and case management services for El Paso County residents, |
|
and it has been recognized among the top programs of its kind in the |
|
state and nation; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through partnerships with other community-based |
|
organizations, training institutions, and private corporations, |
|
Project Arriba seeks to develop a talent force that will meet the |
|
critical needs of employers in El Paso and the surrounding region, |
|
and thereby contribute to the area's economic growth and vitality; |
|
the program focuses on those industries that are in the highest |
|
demand, including nursing, health care, education, and information |
|
technology, and it emphasizes quality opportunities for long-term |
|
employment and strong compensation and benefits; moreover, the |
|
participants of Project Arriba are prepared for the challenges of |
|
tomorrow's global marketplace as they pursue rewarding career paths |
|
and become integral members of the El Paso business community; and |
|
WHEREAS, These outstanding Texans have demonstrated the |
|
utmost dedication and perseverance in completing the Project Arriba |
|
training program, and they may indeed reflect with great pride on |
|
their achievements as they embark on the next exciting chapter of |
|
their lives; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the 2009 spring and summer |
|
graduates of Project Arriba and extend to them sincere best wishes |
|
for continued success. |
