R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Stephanie Bautista of Del Norte Heights Elementary |
|
|
School in El Paso has been named a 2009 Safety Patrol Student of the |
|
|
Year; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, For more than a half-century, the El Paso Police |
|
|
Department has coordinated the Safety Patrol program, and each |
|
|
year, exceptional student safety officers are selected from area |
|
|
schools as part of the student-of-the year initiative sponsored by |
|
|
the Downtown Lions Club; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Nancy and Gary Bautista, Stephanie |
|
|
Bautista is in the fifth grade at Del Norte Heights, where she is an |
|
|
A-B honor roll student and enjoys studying mathematics; moreover, |
|
|
she is a band performer, a Girl Scout, and a talented athlete who |
|
|
participates in basketball and cheerleading; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has learned the values |
|
|
of dedication, respect, and responsibility through her involvement |
|
|
in the Safety Patrol, and she may take great pride in the |
|
|
contribution she has made to her school; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Stephanie Bautista on being named a |
|
|
Safety Patrol Student of the Year at Del Norte Heights Elementary |
|
|
School and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be |
|
|
it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Bautista as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
