R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Robert E. Jones, the political director of Annie's |
|
|
List, has received a 2009 Rising Star Award from Politics magazine; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Jones was one of only 27 people to receive this |
|
|
prestigious honor, which goes to individuals 35 or under who have |
|
|
already made a significant mark in political consulting or |
|
|
advocacy; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Founded in 2003, Annie's List works to change the |
|
|
face of Texas politics by recruiting, training, and supporting |
|
|
women candidates across the state; Mr. Jones has played a leading |
|
|
role in this effort, helping nine Democratic women win seats in the |
|
|
Texas Legislature; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through his professional endeavors, Robert Jones |
|
|
contributes to the strength and vitality of the political process |
|
|
in the Lone Star State, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his |
|
|
notable accomplishments; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Robert Jones on his receipt of a |
|
|
2009 Rising Star Award from Politics magazine and extend to him |
|
|
sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Jones as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
