R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Residents of Clint lost a beloved neighbor and |
|
|
cherished friend with the passing of Ruben Grijalva on February 18, |
|
|
2009, at the age of 51; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Born in El Paso on April 29, 1957, Ruben Grijalva was |
|
|
the son of Eligio and Magdalena Grijalva; he learned the business of |
|
|
farming as he grew up by assisting his father, and he later became a |
|
|
sheet metal worker; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A caring husband and father, Mr. Grijalva enjoyed a |
|
|
rewarding marriage with his wife, Suzie Apodaca; the couple raised |
|
|
a loving family that grew to include four children, Christopher, |
|
|
Timothy, Marcus, and Alexander, as well as two grandchildren; Mr. |
|
|
Grijalva was a faithful parishioner of San Lorenzo Catholic Church |
|
|
in Clint; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Ruben Grijalva |
|
|
will remember the way that he brightened their lives with his |
|
|
kindness and humor, and he will forever hold a treasured place in |
|
|
their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Ruben Grijalva and |
|
|
extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, |
|
|
Suzie Apodaca; to his children, Christopher Ruben, Timothy Eligio, |
|
|
Marcus, and Alexander Grijalva; to his grandchildren, Maddisson and |
|
|
Emily; to his mother, Magdalena S. Grijalva; to his siblings, |
|
|
Martha, Cristina, Rudy, Lupita, Lily, Gracie, Ana, Eddie, Dikki, |
|
|
and Ronnie; to his brothers-in-law, Joe, Rudy, Louie, George, |
|
|
Eddie, Frank, and Gilbert; and to his other relatives and friends; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ruben |
|
|
Grijalva. |
