R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Tuloso-Midway High School Choir has brought
  great honor to its school and community through its record of
  outstanding performances; and
         WHEREAS, Under the dedicated leadership of director Judith
  Moore, the 2008-2009 choir has earned 105 UIL medals for solo and
  ensemble performances, as well as sweepstakes awards for treble,
  mixed, and tenor/bass choir; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to the 33 members who earned positions
  on the Texas Music Educators Association All-District Choir, 13
  earned All-Region recognition and 7 earned All-Area; moreover,
  Sarah Garcia was named to the All-State Mixed Choir, Meagan
  Contreras was named to the All-State Treble Choir, and Dustin Pate
  and Julie Moore earned places on the Texas Choral Directors
  Association Honor Choir; and
         WHEREAS, No stranger to praise, the group has also earned a
  number of honors in previous years, including a total of nearly 200
  UIL medals and the sweepstakes award for Treble Choir in 2006-2007
  and 2007-2008; and
         WHEREAS, Members of the Tuloso-Midway High School Choir have
  demonstrated dedication and talent in the pursuit of their goals,
  and it is a pleasure to recognize these notable young Texans and
  their leaders for their outstanding efforts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Tuloso-Midway High School
  Choir on its many achievements and extend to all those associated
  with the group sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the choir as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
