R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Residents of Plano greatly benefited from the |
|
|
dedicated leadership of Scott Johnson during his eight years on the |
|
|
city council; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Elected to represent Place 2 in 2001, Mr. Johnson |
|
|
held the position of mayor pro tem from February 2006 to May 2007 |
|
|
and deputy mayor pro tem from May 2005 to February 2006, and his |
|
|
knowledge and expertise in a range of community issues have earned |
|
|
him widespread respect; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of his tenure, Mr. Johnson was |
|
|
involved with nearly every aspect of municipal government, from |
|
|
transportation, housing, and utilities to parks and recreation and |
|
|
senior citizens' issues, and he has contributed to numerous |
|
|
committees and organizations, including the North Central Texas |
|
|
Industrial Development Authority, the Collin County Community |
|
|
College Board, the Tax Abatement Council Committee, and the |
|
|
Multi-Cultural Outreach Roundtable; he has also been a liaison to |
|
|
such entities as the Library Advisory Board, the Technology |
|
|
Commission, the Building Standards Commission, and the Animal |
|
|
Shelter Advisory Committee; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Scott Johnson has rendered outstanding public |
|
|
service as a city councilman, and his achievements have helped to |
|
|
make Plano an even better place in which to live, work, and raise a |
|
|
family; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Scott Johnson for his service as a |
|
|
member of the Plano City Council and extend to him sincere best |
|
|
wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Johnson as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
