R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Bill Moore has served with great distinction as
  president of the Texas Pharmacy Association for 2008-2009; and
         WHEREAS, Founded in 1879, the TPA represents almost 4,000
  members and works to unite and advance the pharmacy profession in
  order to help Texans lead healthy lives; Mr. Moore has been a member
  since 1963 and has served as chair of the TPA Insurance Trust, in
  addition to holding numerous other leadership positions; a tireless
  advocate for the association, he has long traveled the state to
  visit pharmacy students, help develop local association chapters,
  and recruit new members from the ranks of practicing pharmacists;
  he is also a longtime member of the National Community Pharmacists
  Association and the American Pharmacists Association; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Moore was born in Hallettsville and graduated
  from The University of Texas College of Pharmacy in 1960; he worked
  as a pharmacist in Ganado and Victoria before purchasing a pharmacy
  in Sinton in 1965; today, Moore's Pharmacy, Inc., is an
  independently owned group of three pharmacies in Sinton, Beeville,
  and Corpus Christi that specialize in custom compounding; Mr.
  Moore's son and fellow TPA member Robert Moore manages the Beeville
  location; and
         WHEREAS, A devoted family man, Mr. Moore shares a rewarding
  marriage with his wife, Linda, and they take pleasure in spending
  time with their 5 children, 11 grandchildren, and 2
  great-grandchildren; he plays an active role in his church, and in
  his free time he joins with his wife in devoting significant effort
  to the fight against cancer; and
         WHEREAS, After nearly half a century as a pharmacist, Bill
  Moore continues to be a dynamic leader in his profession, with a
  deep commitment to improving the health of his fellow Texans, and he
  can indeed take pride in his outstanding tenure as president of the
  Texas Pharmacy Association; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Bill Moore for his contributions as
  president of the Texas Pharmacy Association and extend to him
  sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Moore as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
