R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Keegan Schmitt has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, |
|
|
and this accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant |
|
|
honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the |
|
|
scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding |
|
|
criteria, Mr. Schmitt earned a total of 31 merit badges and |
|
|
successfully completed an Eagle Scout project of benefit to his |
|
|
community, which consisted of organizing the painting of curb stops |
|
|
at the Pasadena Convention Center to enhance pedestrian safety at |
|
|
the facility; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The son of Rachell Wiedmeyer and Michel Schmitt, |
|
|
this fine young Texan has demonstrated outstanding leadership |
|
|
ability throughout his scouting career, winning the respect and |
|
|
admiration of his fellow scouts as he worked toward the highest rank |
|
|
that scouting offers; he is a senior at Dobie High School and a |
|
|
member of the National Honor Society, and he plans to continue his |
|
|
education with computer engineering studies at the Rochester |
|
|
Institute of Technology in New York; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Schmitt's dedication to excellence and |
|
|
his perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy |
|
|
to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with |
|
|
pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Keegan Schmitt on achieving the |
|
|
rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Schmitt as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
