R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Alyssa Eacono has ably served her fellow Texans as
  chief of staff in the office of State Representative Will Hartnett
  since December 2006; and
         WHEREAS, During both the 80th and 81st Legislatures, Ms.
  Eacono has demonstrated outstanding leadership and expertise in
  handling myriad diverse tasks; her professionalism has assured the
  efficient operation of the office, allowing her employer to
  effectively devote his attention to the urgent issues facing the
  citizens of the Lone Star State; and
         WHEREAS, Drawn to politics even as a young girl, this Austin
  native played hide-and-go-seek in the Capitol when it was open 24
  hours a day and sat in the air-conditioned gallery during hot
  special sessions; she later explored both political parties,
  securing internships with the offices of Governor Ann Richards and
  U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison while she was in college; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Eacono went on to earn a bachelor's degree in
  political science from The University of Texas at San Antonio and a
  master of public administration degree from Baylor University;
  through the years, she gained experience as a researcher in the
  Office of Lieutenant Governor Bob Bullock, as a legislative aide
  for State Representative Barry Telford, and as a clerk for the House
  Committee on Financial Institutions; moreover, she developed
  important skills as an analyst for the Public Utility Commission of
  Texas, and she has shared her knowledge with others as an associate
  professor at Austin Community College; and
         WHEREAS, Dedicated to giving back to the greater community,
  Ms. Eacono has served as a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters for
  11 years, and she is a board member of the Samaritan Center for
  Counseling and Pastoral Care and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels; in
  addition, she has distinguished herself as a member of the Mayor's
  Committee for People with Disabilities and the Public Advisory
  Committee of the International Electric Power Research Institute;
  and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Eacono has performed her duties as chief of
  staff with diligence and a commitment to excellence, and it is most
  fitting to take this opportunity to recognize her for a job well
  done; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Alyssa Eacono for her outstanding service
  as chief of staff in the office of State Representative Will
  Hartnett and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
  success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Eacono as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
