A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to compensation for the use of the public transportation system of a regional transportation authority.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:

SECTION 1. Subsection (c), Section 452.061, Transportation Code, is amended to read as follows:

(c) Compensation for the use of the public transportation system, including parking fees and [Fares for] passenger transportation fares, may be set according to a zone system or to another classification that the authority determines to be reasonable.

SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
