A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
relating to the authority of the attorney general to seek an |
|
injunction against certain employment practices involving |
|
children. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. Section 51.034, Labor Code, is amended to read as |
|
follows: |
|
Sec. 51.034. INJUNCTION: ATTORNEY GENERAL'S ACTION. (a) |
|
In this section, "sexually oriented business" has the meaning |
|
assigned by Section 243.002, Local Government Code. |
|
(b) The attorney general may seek injunctive relief in |
|
district court against an employer other than a sexually oriented |
|
business who repeatedly violates the requirements established by |
|
this chapter relating to the employment of children. |
|
(c) The attorney general may seek injunctive relief in |
|
district court against a sexually oriented business on a first or |
|
subsequent violation by the business of the requirements |
|
established by this chapter relating to the employment of children. |
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
