A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the maintenance of records by the Texas Department of |
|
|
Criminal Justice concerning certain financial obligations of |
|
|
inmates released on parole or to mandatory supervision. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 508, Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 508.120 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 508.120. RECORDS OF CERTAIN RELEASEE FINANCIAL |
|
|
OBLIGATIONS. The department shall develop and implement a |
|
|
procedure to maintain computerized records of each releasee's |
|
|
financial obligations that were imposed by a governmental entity, |
|
|
including court costs, court fees, fines, restitution, parole |
|
|
supervision fees, administrative fees, and child support |
|
|
obligations. |

|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
