A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the closure of certain instant lottery games. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 466, Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 466.257 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 466.257. CLOSURE OF INSTANT LOTTERY GAMES. The |
|
|
commission may not initiate procedures to close an instant lottery |
|
|
game until at least 85 percent of all tickets for the game have been |
|
|
sold. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Section 466.257, Government Code, as added by |
|
|
this Act, applies to an instant lottery game for which tickets are |
|
|
offered for sale on or after the effective date of this Act. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
