A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to work performed in sports and community venue districts |
|
|
in certain municipalities. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter G, Chapter 143, Local Government |
|
|
Code, is amended by adding Section 143.136 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 143.136. PERSONNEL WORKING IN SPORTS AND COMMUNITY |
|
|
VENUES. Only a classified firefighter of the municipality may |
|
|
perform work related to firefighting or to a function listed in |
|
|
Section 143.003(4)(A) in a sports or community venue that is or was |
|
|
the subject of a venue project under Chapter 335 and that is located |
|
|
within the corporate limits of the municipality. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
