A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the development and implementation of a workforce |
|
|
diversity plan by certain state agencies. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 802, Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 802.109 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 802.109. WORKFORCE DIVERSITY PLAN. A public retirement |
|
|
system with more than 100 full-time employees shall: |
|
|
(1) develop and implement a workforce diversity plan; |
|
|
and |
|
|
(2) submit a report to the legislature on the contents |
|
|
of the plan and the composition of the system's workforce not later |
|
|
than December 1 of each even-numbered year. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Subchapter B, Chapter 2052, Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 2052.105 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 2052.105. WORKFORCE DIVERSITY PLAN. A state agency in |
|
|
the executive branch of state government, including an institution |
|
|
of higher education as defined by Section 61.003, Education Code, |
|
|
with more than 100 full-time employees shall: |
|
|
(1) develop and implement a workforce diversity plan; |
|
|
and |
|
|
(2) submit a report to the legislature on the contents |
|
|
of the plan and the composition of the agency's workforce not later |
|
|
than December 1 of each even-numbered year. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
