A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to eliminating certain reporting requirements of |
|
|
university systems and institutions of higher education. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 2101.011, Government Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (e) to read as follows: |
|
|
(e) A university system or an institution of higher |
|
|
education as those terms are defined by Section 61.003, Education |
|
|
Code, may submit a comprehensive annual financial statement |
|
|
prepared to comply with generally accepted accounting and reporting |
|
|
standards applicable to institutions of higher education in place |
|
|
of the annual financial statement required by this section. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Section 2101.0115, Government Code, is amended |
|
|
by adding Subsection (e) to read as follows: |
|
|
(e) This section does not apply to a university system or an |
|
|
institution of higher education as those terms are defined by |
|
|
Section 61.003, Education Code. |
|
|
SECTION 3. Section 412.042, Labor Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: |
|
|
(d) Subsection (c) does not apply to a university system or |
|
|
an institution of higher education as those terms are defined by |
|
|
Section 61.003, Education Code. |
|
|
SECTION 4. Sections 33.083(d) and 61.0582, Education Code, |
|
|
are repealed. |
|
|
SECTION 5. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
