A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the amount of hazardous duty pay for certain employees |
|
of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. Subsection (h), Section 659.305, Government |
|
Code, is amended to read as follows: |
|
(h) The amount of hazardous duty pay for a particular month |
|
for a full-time state employee [correctional officer] employed by |
|
the Texas Department of Criminal Justice is [the lesser of:
|
|
[(1)] $12 for each 12-month period of lifetime service |
|
credit accrued by the employee[; or
|
|
[(2) $300]. |
|
SECTION 2. This Act does not make an appropriation. A |
|
provision in this Act that creates a new governmental program, |
|
creates a new entitlement, or imposes a new duty on a governmental |
|
entity is not mandatory during a fiscal period for which the |
|
legislature has not made a specific appropriation to implement the |
|
provision. |
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
