A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to a prevailing wage survey conducted under an interlocal
  agreement between two or more political subdivisions of the state.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 2258.022, Government Code, is amended by
  adding Subsection (f) to read as follows:
         (f)  Notwithstanding any other law, two or more political
  subdivisions that are located in one county may enter into an
  interlocal agreement for the purpose of conducting a prevailing
  wage survey under this chapter provided that the wage survey is
  conducted at least every three years. A survey authorized by this
  subsection may be used to set the rate to be paid to workers
  required by Section 2258.021 for work performed in any political
  subdivision that is a party to the interlocal agreement.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
  a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
  provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
  Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
  Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
