A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to a prevailing wage survey conducted under an interlocal |
|
|
agreement between two or more political subdivisions of the state. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 2258.022, Government Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (f) to read as follows: |
|
|
(f) Notwithstanding any other law, two or more political |
|
|
subdivisions that are located in one county may enter into an |
|
|
interlocal agreement for the purpose of conducting a prevailing |
|
|
wage survey under this chapter provided that the wage survey is |
|
|
conducted at least every three years. A survey authorized by this |
|
|
subsection may be used to set the rate to be paid to workers |
|
|
required by Section 2258.021 for work performed in any political |
|
|
subdivision that is a party to the interlocal agreement. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
