SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 40

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Lieutenant Colonel William Rodriguez, who has dedicated many years of outstanding service to this country in the United States Air Force; and

WHEREAS, William Rodriguez earned a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting from The University of Texas at San Antonio in 1983; he joined the United States Air Force as a B-52 bomber aircrew member in 1984; and

WHEREAS, He has held a number of assignments and commands over the years, including flight commander, instructor, bomber inspection section chief, operations programs and integration team chief, and detachment commander; and

WHEREAS, Since 2000, he has served with the Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center as a director and deputy detachment commander in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, and as a director and deputy director for the Plans, Programs, and Policy Directorate in Albuquerque, New Mexico; he has served as chief of the Air Force Smart Operations Office in Albuquerque since 2007; and

WHEREAS, Lieutenant Colonel William Rodriguez is an exceptional representative of the military men and women who serve their country during times of peace and times of hostilities in defense of the cause of freedom; the citizens of this state and this nation are grateful for his service; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st Legislature, hereby commend Lieutenant Colonel William Rodriguez for his distinguished military career and his service to this country; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
