SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 90

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Chapel Hill Elementary School of the Chapel Hill Independent School District, which has been recognized by the Texas Education Agency as a 2009 Blue Ribbon School nominee to the National Education Association; and

WHEREAS, Established in 1982, the Blue Ribbon Schools program honors schools that are academically superior or that have demonstrated dramatic gains in student achievement; and

WHEREAS, This outstanding accomplishment reflects the superior leadership of the school's principal, Mrs. Missy Walley, and the hard work of the district's board of trustees and superintendent; and

WHEREAS, The talented and dedicated faculty and staff of the school have made it widely recognized as a first-rate institution with a sound academic curriculum and well-disciplined students who are high achievers; and

WHEREAS, Chapel Hill Elementary School has consistently aimed at providing resources, programs, and experiences that would inspire excellence in student performance, and its students can be proud of the fine education they receive; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st Legislature, hereby commend the Chapel Hill Elementary School and the Chapel Hill Independent School District on their dedication to academic excellence and extend congratulations on being named a 2009 Blue Ribbon School nominee; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the district as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
