SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 127
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize San Antonio attorney Sylvia A. Cardona, president of
  the Texas Young Lawyers Association; and
         WHEREAS, Sylvia Cardona is a shareholder in the San Antonio
  office of Langley and Banack, Incorporated, and her practice
  focuses on litigation and international law; she earned a
  bachelor's degree from The University of Texas at San Antonio and
  a law degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law; she
  was admitted to practice in Texas in 2001 and received her master
  of laws degree in international and comparative law from
  Georgetown University Law Center in 2002; and
         WHEREAS, She is an active leader in numerous professional
  associations, including the Texas State Bar Association, the
  Bexar County Women's Bar Association, the American Bar
  Association, and the William S. Sessions American Inn of Court;
  and
         WHEREAS, She serves on the board of directors of the Texas
  State Bar Association, the Texas Bar Foundation, and the San
  Antonio Young Lawyers Association; she was recognized by the San
  Antonio Business Journal as a rising star in 2004, and her peers
  recognized her as one of San Antonio's best lawyers in Scene in
  San Antonio Monthly magazine; and
         WHEREAS, An active volunteer in the San Antonio community,
  she speaks to students about the importance of education, and in
  an effort to increase pro bono representation, she helped train
  more than 100 lawyers statewide to represent children detained at
  the border; she is indeed a rising star in the field of law, and
  she deserves recognition for her many accomplishments; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
  Legislature, hereby commend Sylvia A. Cardona for her
  outstanding work in the legal profession and extend to her best
  wishes in all her future endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
