SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 129
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Betty Louise Hughes
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of Betty Louise Hughes, who died January 3,
  2009, in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the age of 71; and
         WHEREAS, Betty Hughes was born November 13, 1937; she was
  retired from her career with Morgan Stanley Discover Card in New
  Albany, Ohio; and
         WHEREAS, An exemplary lady, Betty was respected for her
  many accomplishments; she was a woman of integrity, strength, and
  generosity who gave unselfishly to others; and
         WHEREAS, Betty Hughes was beloved by many, and she leaves
  behind memories that will be treasured forever by her family and
  friends; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Betty Louise Hughes: her daughters and son-in-law,
  Sylretha Smith and her husband, Chester, Syvera Smith, and
  Darlene Reece; her sister and brother-in-law, Barbara Morgan and
  her husband, Thomas; and her numerous grandchildren and
  great-grandchildren; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the members of her family as an expression of deepest sympathy
  from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of Betty Hughes.
