SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 232
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize Lieutenant Larry Allen, who is retiring after 29 years |
|
|
of service with the Mesquite Police Department; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, During his 29-year career, Lieutenant Allen has |
|
|
worked as a supervisor in Patrol, Police Property, Internal |
|
|
Affairs, and Criminal Investigations; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, During the last few years of his tenure, he was |
|
|
assigned to the Technical Services Bureau as supervisor over |
|
|
Communications, Detentions, Police Property, Police Records, and |
|
|
the Auto Impound; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, As a member of the Family Support Team, Lieutenant |
|
|
Allen provides support to employees during personal crises, |
|
|
making him very well respected and well liked at the Mesquite |
|
|
Police Department; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Lieutenant Allen has received various |
|
|
departmental awards, including the 15-year Safe Driving Award, |
|
|
recognition for Perfect Attendance and Firearms Proficiency, and |
|
|
a Certificate of Merit; he was also selected as the Exchange Club |
|
|
Officer of the Year and CPA Officer of the Month; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Lieutenant Allen and his wife, Candy, live in |
|
|
Mesquite, and their daughter, Laurie, is a teacher in the |
|
|
Mesquite Independent School District; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Lieutenant Larry Allen recently announced his |
|
|
retirement from the Mesquite Police Department effective |
|
|
February 27, 2009, after many years of dedicated service; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
|
|
Legislature, hereby join the residents of Mesquite in |
|
|
congratulating Mr. Allen on an outstanding career with the |
|
|
Mesquite Police Department and expressing sincere appreciation |
|
|
to him for his unwavering dedication and service to the City of |
|
|
Mesquite; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
Lieutenant Larry Allen as an expression of esteem from the Texas |
|
|
Senate. |
