SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 241
         WHEREAS, The 70th birthday of an esteemed Texan is indeed
  cause for celebration, and Lula Mae Webb of Houston is marking
  this happy occasion on February 18, 2009; and
 
         WHEREAS, Born to Dewey Harris and Willie Mae Coats Harris,
  Mrs. Webb grew up with five siblings, Douglas Harris, LeeEtta
  McGartha, Angeline Sinclair, James Hogues, and Gloster Harris;
  she married Walter Curtis Webb on December 17, 1960, and the pair
  were blessed with a son, Walter Curtis Webb, Jr.; and
 
         WHEREAS, This loving matriarch also helped to raise her
  nieces and nephews, Donna Harris, Glenda Williams, Beverly
  Glover, Connie Jenkins, and Subrina Gee; and
 
         WHEREAS, Today, Mrs. Webb continues to enjoy an active and
  fulfilling life; an engaged citizen, she has been a dedicated
  caregiver for 35 years and attends Wayman Chapel African
  Methodist Episcopal Church; moreover, she has served her
  community as precinct judge with Precinct 109 in Harris County
  for more than a quarter century; and
 
         WHEREAS, Lula Webb has enriched the lives of those around
  her with her wisdom, warmth, and generous spirit, and she has in
  turn been blessed with decades of wonderful memories; now,
  therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
  Legislature, warmly congratulate Lula Mae Webb on the joyous
  occasion of her 70th birthday and extend to her sincere best
  wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Webb as an expression of high regard from the
  Texas Senate.
