SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 270
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize the Reverend Irie Lynne Session, who has been named a
  legacy torch recipient by the Urban League of Greater Dallas; and
 
         WHEREAS, Senior pastor at New Life Christian Church in
  Dallas, Reverend Session earned a bachelor's degree in social
  work from Oklahoma Christian College and a master's degree in
  divinity from Brite Divinity School at Texas Christian
  University; and
 
         WHEREAS, Reverend Session works with New Friends New Life,
  where she provides pastoral and referral services, support group
  facilitation, and weekly Bible studies; and
 
         WHEREAS, Reverend Session has devoted her time and energy
  unselfishly by providing the education and support that enables
  women to transform their lives; she is truly deserving of
  recognition for her achievements and her many contributions to
  the Dallas community; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
  Legislature, hereby commend Reverend Irie Lynne Session on her
  dedication to assisting those in need of a helping hand and
  congratulate her on being selected as a legacy torch recipient by
  the Urban League of Greater Dallas; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
