SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 285

WHEREAS, The birth of a baby is one of the most treasured events in the life of a couple; and

WHEREAS, January 23, 2009, will be a day long remembered and cherished by Corby and Erin Brooks, for on that day their daughter Emma Kate Brooks was born; and

WHEREAS, The beautiful baby girl was born at 11:46 a.m.; she weighed eight pounds 13 ounces and measured 21 inches; and

WHEREAS, Emma's safe arrival is the fulfillment of her parents' dearest wish; Corby and Erin, along with proud grandparents Judy Brooks and Kris and Bill Bergeson, delighted aunts and uncle Ashley Brooks and Melissa and Ryan Bergeson, cousin Ty Bergeson, and big brother Carter Brooks, are filled with joy over the arrival of this long-awaited infant, who has already found a permanent place in their hearts; and

WHEREAS, It is indeed appropriate that the Texas Senate welcome this new little Texan as a treasured citizen of the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st Legislature, hereby extend congratulations to Corby and Erin Brooks on the birth of their precious child and best wishes for the future to Emma Kate Brooks; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the family as a memento of this special day in their lives.
