SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 303
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Frank S. Adams
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  citizens of Corpus Christi in mourning the loss of Frank S.
  Adams, who died February 14, 2009, at the age of 82; and
         WHEREAS, Born January 29, 1927, in Ardmore, Oklahoma,
  Frank Adams graduated from the Southern Methodist University
  School of Banking and taught for many years as an adjunct
  professor at the Texas Tech School of Banking; and
         WHEREAS, He served in the United States Navy during World
  War II and was employed in the used car business before he
  launched his successful banking career with Bank of Commerce and
  American Bank; he served as president of American Bank from 1971
  to 1995 and continued to serve on the board of directors until he
  retired in 2007, at the age of 80; and
         WHEREAS, As president and director of the Independent
  Bankers Association of Texas, Frank took pride in the many
  customer service seminars he conducted for banks throughout the
  state; his trademark at these events was passing out American
  flag lapel pins and silver dollars; he was a talented and
  effective speaker who had a positive impact on his audiences; and
         WHEREAS, Frank was dedicated to his work in banking and in
  the community and was noted for his friendly, outgoing nature; he
  was beloved by his family and friends, and he leaves behind
  memories that will be deeply treasured by those who were
  privileged to share in his life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Frank S. Adams; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy
  from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of Frank Adams.
