Lake Lewisville, Little Elm is located on land that was
originally an empresario grant by the Republic of Texas in 1841

King established the town in 1844 and was later appointed
postmaster of Denton County's first post office; and
WHEREAS, Incorporated in 1966, the Town of Little Elm has

2002, more than 1,000 residential building permits have been
  issued every year; and
WHEREAS, Through foresight and prudent planning, Little
Elm's growth has been responsibly managed so that the town

proximity to the conveniences of city life, Little Elm looks
forward to a bright future; now, therefore, be it
