SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 327

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize the Children of the Republic of Texas on the occasion of the organization's 80th anniversary; and

WHEREAS, Established by the Daughters of the Republic of Texas on March 1, 1929, the Children of the Republic of Texas is a youth organization dedicated to the study and promotion of Texas history; and

WHEREAS, This outstanding organization consists of 70 chapters across the state; its members strive to encourage the study of Texas history and to promote more research into the earliest records of our state; and

WHEREAS, Dedicated to safeguarding the hallowed sites, early documents, and relics of our state's storied past, the Children of the Republic of Texas have for 80 years distinguished themselves with their commitment to the preservation of our state's history; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Children of the Republic of Texas on their devotion to preserving the legacy of our state and extend to them sincere congratulations on the occasion of the organization's 80th anniversary; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for this exemplary organization as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
