SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 361
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Salvadore Rios Hernandez, Sr.
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  citizens of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Salvadore Rios
  Hernandez, Sr., who died recently at the age of 80; and
         WHEREAS, Salvadore R. Hernandez was born June 22, 1928, in
  Ohio; he served the nation for 20 years in the United States Air
  Force, retiring at the rank of technical sergeant; and
         WHEREAS, Following his retirement from military service,
  Mr. Hernandez worked in civil service for many years at Kelly Air
  Force Base, Lackland Air Force Base, and Fort Sam Houston; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Hernandez was active in numerous civic and
  community organizations, taking particular pleasure in his work
  with the Boys and Girls Clubs of San Antonio; he was a vital part
  of the Golden Gloves Boxing Tournament for nearly 40 years; and
         WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and compassion, Mr.
  Hernandez had an exemplary work ethic and gave unselfishly to
  others, and his kindness and generosity will not be forgotten by
  those who knew him; and
         WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, and
  grandfather, and his family and friends will continue to live
  with the cherished memories of his life and his many
  accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Salvadore Rios Hernandez, Sr.: his loving wife of 50
  years, Frances M. Hernandez; his daughters and sons-in-law,
  Esperanza and Carlos Rodriguez, Consuelo and Armando Hernandez,
  and Margarita and Kent Martinez; his sons and daughter-in-law,
  Salvadore M. Hernandez, Jr., Steven and Velma Hernandez, and
  Daniel Hernandez; his brothers, Jesus, Alex, Ruben, and Ricardo
  Hernandez; his sister, Mary Louise Wilson; and his 12
  grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Salvadore Rios Hernandez, Sr.
