SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 415
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize Tara Korstad for her 10 years of loyal service to |
|
|
Senator Florence Shapiro; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Tara is currently the director of operations for |
|
|
Senator Shapiro's Capitol office; she began working with Senator |
|
|
Shapiro in 1999 as an administrative assistant and receptionist |
|
|
for the Senate Committee on State Affairs when Senator Shapiro |
|
|
became chair of the committee; Tara was named assistant clerk of |
|
|
the committee in 2000; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In January of 2003, she became assistant clerk for |
|
|
the Committee on Education when Senator Shapiro was named chair |
|
|
of that committee; Tara also served as clerk for the Subcommittee |
|
|
on Higher Education, and later that year she took on even more |
|
|
responsibilities, becoming clerk for the Joint Select Committee |
|
|
on Higher Education and assistant clerk for the Joint Select |
|
|
Committee on Public School Finance; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, She was named clerk for the education committee in |
|
|
2004 and served in that position for the 79th Legislature, |
|
|
including three special sessions on school finance that |
|
|
ultimately resulted in the passage of major school finance reform |
|
|
legislation in 2006; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Tara has always shown great enthusiasm for her |
|
|
work and completed each assignment with careful attention to |
|
|
detail; she radiates a positive and welcoming attitude and her |
|
|
unfailing friendliness has endeared her to her Senate colleagues |
|
|
and to the public as well; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commend Tara Korstad for her 10 years of |
|
|
outstanding service with Senator Florence Shapiro and the Texas |
|
|
Senate and extend to her best wishes for continued success; and, |
|
|
be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
her as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. |
