SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 417
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  join the residents of the City of Sansom Park on the occasion of
  its 60th anniversary; and
 
         WHEREAS, Sansom Park is situated on the site of the former
  Sansom Ranch; the area boasts a colorful history that includes
  the great cattle drives to the stockyards, lively events along
  the Jacksboro Highway, and the construction of military
  facilities during World War II; and
 
         WHEREAS, Following World War II, the area was home to a
  rapidly growing population, and on March 24, 1949, Sansom Park
  Village was officially incorporated; and
 
         WHEREAS, Through the years, Sansom Park has continued to
  grow and prosper; today, with its Comprehensive Land Use Plan
  ensuring high-quality and orderly development and with such
  civic-minded programs as a food bank, Neighbors Helping
  Neighbors, and monthly crime watch meetings, the city has become
  an exemplary place in which to live, work, and raise a family;
  now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
  Legislature, hereby commend the citizens of the City of Sansom
  Park on their many contributions to our state and extend to them
  best wishes for a memorable 60th anniversary celebration; and, be
  it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the city as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
